Essential oils have so many uses and in this post, we will address essential oils for beautiful and younger-looking skin as well as oils to help with troublesome skin conditions. Since we will be using these oils on our skin, it is very important to use a carrier oil to protect your skin.
Tea Tree Oil-Is a well known oil for treating various skin conditions, it has been used
extensively for mild or moderate acne. It decreases skin surface bacteria, fungus, and viruses and because of that it’s considered anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory. Tea Tree Essential Oil s a great antiseptic for minor cuts and scrapes and can encourage wound healing. Some of the skin conditions that can be helped with tea tree oil are, acne, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, athlete’s foot, and dandruff to name a few.Lavender Essential Oil-Is great for unclogging pores and reducing inflamattion on the skin which makes it great for clearing up acne. Lavender Essential Oil can also be paired with tea tree oil and coconut oil as a great acne treatment. It is also good as a facial toner when paired with witch hazel, 2 drops lavender oil to 1 teaspoon of witch hazel. Soak a cotton ball in the mixture and
rub gently over skin. Studies have shown that lavender oil kills the bacteria that causes eczema and also soothes dry skin. A bonus with lavender essential oil is it can reduce wrinkles.
Frankincense Essential Oil-Known as the king of essential oils, frankincense essential oil is called liquid gold by many and is a 2000 year old favorite oil. It is a natural astringent, it has antiseptic and antibacterial properties which make it great for healing damaged skin from acne and free radicals. It also reduces the appearance of stretch marks and scars. Frankincense oil works well to tighten
and rejuvenate skin and brightens dark circles when added to your nightly eye cream regimen.
Helichrysum Essential Oil-Is the cousin to sunflower oil, it produces beautiful golden color flowers. Helichrysum Essential Oil is another great addition to your anti-aging regimen, it targets age spots, fine lines and wrinkles. Helichrysum essential oil is very soothing to the skin and is great for a full body massage or even as an effective razor relief serum after a shave. It can also
soothe your skin if you have spent too much time doing fun activities in the sun.
Bergamot Essential Oil-As with many of the essential oils mentioned above
Bergamot Essential Oil is anitmicrobial and antibacterial but also contains
limonene, a potent antioxidant, which makes it an effective oil for skin health. It can be used as a deodarant, as well as in soaps, creams and lotions. It is widely used to heal the unsightly effects of acne and is great for evening skin tone. Bergamot Essential Oil also smells great with its citrusy scent.
Jasmine Essential Oil-Is a natural antiseptic and is great for soothing dry skin and eczema. Jasmine Essential Oil can speed up wound healing and reduce the chance of infections. It is also a great oil to add to your anti-aging routine
for more youthful looking skin. Jasmine Essential Oil helps promote collagen production and slows fine line development.
Sandalwood Essential Oil-Helps to nourish the skin, helps to clear skin and even skin tone by gently exfoliating and soothes sunburns. Sandalwood Essential
Oil is very hydrating to the skin and is naturally mild which makes it suitable for all skin types.
Roman Chamomile Essential Oil-Is considered an incredibly calming oil so it is extremely effective in soothing irritated skin. It is great for fighting acne and eczema and for healing the scars that they cause. Roman Chamomile Essentiall Oil is an
awesome moisturizer and evens skin tone while giving you radiant-looking skin.Carrot Seed Essential Oil-Is rich in vitamin A and carotenoids which make it high in antioxidants which help fight skin aging. Carrot Seed Essential Oil is often confused with carrot oil and the two are completely different and have different properties. Carrot oil is not an essential oil where carrot seed oil is. Carrot seed oil should be mixed with a carrier oil because it can be irratating to skin when
used alone. Carrot Seed Oil is the better oil in my opinion and seems to have more health benefits. The essential oils mentioned above will be great addtions to your anti-aging routine and to heal any troublesome skin conditions. If you want, healthy, beatiful and youthful skin please try the oils listed above together or alone and let us know what you think. Add them to your essential oil diffuser or add them to your favorite moisturizer.
